LANESBORO, MN — Minnesota lawmakers will consider a bill this session (SF1050) aimed at expanding access to outdoor education for students in grades 4 to 8. The initiative, Outdoor School for All Minnesota, seeks to establish a statewide grant program to support immersive, multi-day, accredited overnight outdoor education experiences at places like Eagle Bluff.
The proposal is led by Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center, Long Lake Conservation Center, Osprey Wilds Environmental Learning Center, Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center, and Deep Portage Environmental Learning Center.
By fostering hands-on, nature-based learning, the bill will not only enrich student education but also help bridge gaps in access to quality outdoor experiences across Minnesota. As the legislative session approaches, we are hopeful that this collaborative effort among leading environmental centers will pave the way for a new era of educational innovation in the state.
