Invest in Outdoor Education

Eagle Bluff is a privately funded 501(c)3 nonprofit environmental learning center. Your generosity gives environmental education and transformative outdoor experiences to thousands of children, adults and families every year.

For more than 40 years, Eagle Bluff has been providing youth, families and adults the opportunity to explore nature through self-discovery.  With your donation to Eagle Bluff, you’ll be:

  • Facilitating deeper understanding of the people and places around us
  • Imparting applicable and life-long skills
  • Building networks that strengthen communities
  • Creating positive change in our social and ecological environments

With your investment in outdoor education, you’re developing the next generation of nature lovers, conservationists, and environmental stewards. From our staff, our students, and our planet – thank you!

Monthly Giving

Your monthly gift is vitally important as it provides reliable support for our educational programming. Become an Eagle Bluff sustaining donor by setting up a donation with the button below, or contact our Development Director Joe Goetzke at 507-467-2437 or email joeg@eaglebluffmn.org.

Give Monthly
Gifts of Property & Real Estate

Real property:
Unencumbered real property will be accepted at fair market value as established by at least one qualified appraisal. Eagle Bluff may obtain a formal appraisal and the donor will obtain a second appraisal to eliminate any question of conflict of interest. In most cases a single appraisal paid for by the donor, unless negotiated otherwise, will be adequate.

Tangible personal property:
Tangible personal property may be accepted as a gift. Eagle Bluff and the donor must comply with Treasury regulations for obtaining and reporting qualified appraisals. To be deducted at their full fair market value, gifts must be made directly to Eagle Bluff and Eagle Bluff must use those gifts in a way that is related to its exempt purposes.

To donate property, please contact Joe Goetzke, Development Director, at 507-467-2437 or joeg@eaglebluffmn.org to get started!

Scholarship Donations

Over 1/3 of schools that visit Eagle Bluff receive financial support to make their trips a reality. You can directly contribute to our scholarship fund to provide environmental education and positive outdoor experiences to students in need.

Donate

To make a scholarship donation by check, please mail to Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center, Attn: Joe Goetzke, 28097 Goodview Drive, Lanesboro, MN 55949. Write “scholarships” in check memo line.

Gifts in a Will (Bequests)

A charitable bequest is a simple and flexible way to support Eagle Bluff for years to come. You may prefer that a bequest be for a specific amount or represent a percentage of your estate, or you may create a bequest that benefits Eagle Bluff after you have provided for your family and friends.

Have you already named Eagle Bluff in your will or trust? Please let us know your plans by contacting our development office at 507-467-2437 or development@eaglebluffmn.org. We’d like to thank you for joining us in our work to empower people to care for the earth and each other.

There are several ways that you can make a gift to Eagle Bluff through your will:

Specific gift: An outright gift of securities, real estate, or a specific amount of cash. You describe exactly what kind of gift you want to leave to Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center and the designated source. If you want to leave a specific dollar amount from a specific source or a particular item (such as a piece of property or a collector’s item), this is the type of bequest you would use.

Residuary gift: This type of bequest is honored after all other bequests have been made, and all debts, expenses and taxes have been paid.

Contingent gift: This type of bequest is fulfilled if certain conditions are met. For instance, if your primary beneficiary does not survive you, you can indicate your next choice as Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center through a contingent bequest.

Codicil to your will: If you already have a will that spells out your intentions, but would like to include Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center, you can do so by using a codicil to your will. A codicil is a supplement that modifies your will. Please consult your attorney or adviser before incorporating these new changes.

Marketable Securities

Publicly-traded and closely-held stocks and bonds will be accepted at fair market value on the date of transfer as determined under Internal Revenue Service rules. Securities are valued at the time the donor surrenders control. It is the donor’s responsibility to obtain any appraisals.

Publicly traded securities may be given directly to Eagle Bluff or through an Eagle Bluff brokerage account maintained for the purpose of receiving and liquidating the securities it receives. The amount received by Eagle Bluff upon the disposition of donated securities may be more or less than their gift value.
