Exciting progress is being made on the Minnesota Driftless Hiking Trail, a planned 100-mile backpacking route through Fillmore and Houston Counties. At a recent Houston County Commission meeting, trail executive director Alexa Shapiro shared updates on the project’s development, including Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center serving as the fiscal agent, community engagement efforts, and a vision for completion over the next decade.

Community members have already begun engaging in the process, including a recent listening session in Caledonia, MN on March 9, where attendees shared input and learned more about the project.
