Trails & Outdoor Recreation

Visit at the Schroeder Visitor Center, open Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., for trail maps, visitor information, restrooms, drinking water, and assistance from Eagle Bluff staff.

Visiting outside of business hours? Trail maps and information are available at kiosks located in the Main Parking Lot and Schroeder Parking Lot.

Please follow posted trail signs, stay on designated trails, and respect areas that may be in use for educational programs or special events.

Hiking

Explore more than 9 miles of public trails through hardwood forests, native prairie, limestone bluffs, and along the Root River, with scenic overlooks offering panoramic views along the way. Routes range from easy walks to more challenging hikes with rewarding views.

Mountain & Fat Tire Biking

Ride winding singletrack trails designed for mountain biking during the warmer months. In winter, enjoy groomed trails for fat tire biking.

Birding

Bring your binoculars and discover the incredible bird diversity found throughout our campus. Common sightings include: Bald Eagle, Scarlet Tanager, Pileated Woodpecker, Indigo Bunting, American Redstart, and Tufted Titmouse.

Winter Recreation

Bring your cross-country skis, snowshoes, or fat tire bike to explore our groomed, snow-covered trails.
